It All Starts Here

Our nursery follows the UK’s internationally recognised framework for EYFS and the seven key areas of learning.

Salam Nursery provides an atmosphere of care and compassion and an inclusive environment. We offer children a wide range of activities including lots of creative and messy play to encourage your children’s development in an enjoyable and stimulating way to succeed in reaching their unique and full potential.

The children will have access to high quality, safe equipment, stimulating environment, a rich curriculum, an extensive range of resources according to age and ability and high quality teaching.

The health and happiness of your child is our top priority.

Communication and Language

All of our teachers speak English at Salam Nursery.

We also speak another language at home, but when we are having fun here, we get really good at speaking English.

We even learn Arabic here too. 🙂

Physical Development

I love playing outside in our playground.

I love it when the weather is cool and we are running around outside jumping and playing with each other.

We have P.E. classes each week too, and they are really fun.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

I make friends here, and I have fun with them. On Friendship Day, we celebrate our friendships.

I have the most fun when I am playing with my friends.

They also help me and make me laugh. Even our parents are friends now. 🙂

Literacy

I listen to stories read by my teacher during the week, and I love to open books and try to read them just like my teacher.

My fingers are small but I practice how to hold a crayon, a pencil and a paintbrush and I love to draw.

I also learn to say and understand new words every single day.

Mathematics

I learn about numbers when we are playing games, and especially when we are doing activities.

We go on shopping trips and learn about money.
We use blocks and learn about counting.
My favourite part of maths is when we learn about shapes.

Expressive Arts and Design

I can’t help it, when I see a big white wall, I just want to draw all over it.

I love using the things in our nursery, like the paintbrushes, the paints and the crayons, and the glue.

My friends and I create works of art everyday.

Understanding the World

This is my favourite area of learning, because we have so much fun.

One time, we learned how to put out fires.

Another time, we learned how to be doctors.

I learn a lot about what happens in the world during these activities.
