Inclusion at ASPS
Inclusion at Al Salam Private School
At Al Salam Private School, we believe that every child is special. Inclusion is at the heart of our philosophy, and we are committed to ensuring that every student has access to the curriculum and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Admission
We are proud to be an inclusive school. ASPS welcomes students with a wide range of needs, including:
- Gifted and talented learners
- Students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Students facing physical, emotional, social, cultural, or language challenges
Identification of Need
We strive to identify and address barriers to learning and social-emotional inclusion. Our team works continuously to ensure that every student can thrive academically and socially.
Delivery of Learning
Our teachers provide differentiated learning opportunities, tailoring materials and activities to match each student’s interests and abilities. This approach ensures full access to the curriculum for all learners.
Ensuring Progress
We are dedicated to supporting every student through high-quality teaching, pastoral care, and learning support. Each student has a personalised learning pathway to meet their individual needs.
Our Inclusion Policy identifies students in three key groups:
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Gifted and Talented
- English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Support includes: identification, intervention, personalised learning, differentiation, and ongoing assistance.
Parents as Partners
We value parents as key partners in their child’s learning journey. ASPS encourages collaboration through:
- Individual and group consultations
- Parent meetings
- A comprehensive reporting cycle
- An open-door policy for the Inclusion Team
We believe that working together helps remove social and academic barriers, ensuring every child thrives.
Teachers and Staff
Our teachers are selected for their professionalism and dedication to inclusion. Continuous professional development ensures they are equipped to support all learners effectively.
Wider Community
ASPS works closely with the wider community and external agencies to enhance learning opportunities and support services for our students.
