Next Gen World Majlis
Next Gen World Majlis

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievement of our Deputy Head Girl, Ameera Sirajudeen, who reached Round 4 of the Next Gen World Majlis, an inspiring national programme that amplifies student voice and places young people at the centre of global conversations.

Ameera’s journey is one shaped not only by talent and determination, but by a school culture that values confidence, critical thinking and active citizenship. Our students are encouraged to question, lead and engage with the world beyond the classroom. Through opportunities for student leadership, discussion based learning and real world problem solving, Ameera developed the confidence and communication skills needed to step forward and be heard on a global stage. Experiences such as these reflect Al Salam Private School’s commitment to preparing students not only for academic success, but for meaningful participation in the wider world.

As part of her Next Gen World Majlis experience, Ameera joined the Expo City Dubai Masterplan offices, where she gained first hand insight into the future of urban planning. This opportunity allowed her to connect classroom learning with real world practice, reinforcing the importance of sustainability, wellbeing and inclusive design.

The 2025 theme for Next Gen World Majlis, Cities That Move Us: Designing Healthier, Happier, Greener Communities, aligns closely with our school’s vision of developing globally minded learners. Students are challenged to explore how movement, wellbeing and nature shape our cities and societies, while also considering ethical, environmental and inclusive responsibilities. Ameera’s contribution demonstrated the confidence, empathy and global awareness that Al Salam Private School strives to instil in every student.

The Journey Behind the Achievements

Next Gen World Majlis

Next Gen World Majlis brings together high school students from across the UAE through a structured four round programme designed to educate, empower and inspire.

Round 1: Future Cities Presentation
The programme begins with the top 120 applicants attending an expert led session on sustainable cities of the future, followed by a question and answer discussion and a short quiz. Progression is based on quiz performance and an initial audio submission.

Round 2: Expert Insights and Media Training
Students then explore the topic in greater depth with industry specialists, alongside media and public speaking training. These sessions mirror the emphasis placed at Al Salam Private School on articulate communication, collaboration and confidence. The top 10 students progress based on engagement and teamwork.

Round 3: Field Trip and Mock Majlis
Participants engage with professionals working on real world urban development projects before taking part in a mock majlis discussion. This stage encourages students to think critically, listen respectfully and articulate informed viewpoints, skills regularly practised within the school environment. The top four finalists are selected from this round.

Round 4: Next Gen World Majlis
The final round takes place on the main stage at the Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum. The finalists engage in an hour long moderated discussion in front of an international audience of academics, industry experts and global leaders, demonstrating exceptional confidence and insight.

Developing Global Citizens

Ameera’s success reflects the values at the heart of Al Salam Private School, where students are nurtured to become confident communicators, responsible leaders and engaged global citizens. By providing platforms for student voice, leadership opportunities and real world learning experiences, ASPS ensures that students are prepared not only for future careers, but for meaningful contributions to society.

From classroom conversations to a global stage, Ameera’s journey is a powerful example of what can be achieved when students are supported, challenged and inspired to lead.

This academic year, we proudly marked a significant milestone with the soft opening of our new football pitch, an exciting addition to our school’s sports facilities.

We were delighted to welcome esteemed guests to the inauguration ceremony. Dr. Abdulrahman Nassir, Chief Executive Officer of Business Support Sector at the KHDA, joined us as our VIP guest, along with our school Governors, leadership team and student leaders. We were also treated to an energetic capoeira performance by Brazilian Martial Arts (BMA), which added to the excitement of the event.

This new football pitch opens up a world of opportunities for our students. It will serve as a platform for them to hone their skills, foster teamwork, and develop a lifelong love for the beautiful game. We are excited to witness the countless hours of fun, competition and camaraderie that will unfold on this pitch.
